Silent Howls is a realistic wild wolf role playing game. The setting takes place on a sweeping landscape enriched with three different habitats. These habitats differ from rolling mountains, thick forests, and even a costal beach to the South. It is in these areas that three unique wolf packs have created territory lines. These packs are the Serenity Wolf Pack, the Denali Wolf Pack, and the Kabira Wolf Pack.

With life as a nomad being a harsh and lonely one, and these three packlands, tough decisions will be made. Will you lead your character to redemption, or will you take them on the path to destruction?

IC Setting Current Plotline Pack Status
Season
Winter

Weather
Heavy snowfall and freezing nights. The temperatures drop well below zero when the sun falls behind the mountains. It's best to find shelture as soon as possible, because a blizzard is on it's way. In it's wake, the food source is growing scarce.. Making life even more difficult.

Source of Prey
Large game like deer and boar are growing more and more scarce by the moment. Hunting is difficult, and wolves are doomed to starvation unless they can scope out any meat, hunted or scavenged.

Breeding and Birthing
Yes || No
The tree packs make up the common battle between good vs. evil vs. loners.

The Serenity Wolf Pack acts as the 'lights' of SH. They are the gentle, compassionate wolves that care about everyone and hold little or no grudges against each other. They fear the Kabira, but are ready and willing to stand up for themselves if a war were to ever break out.

The Denali Wolf Pack would be the 'neutrals' of the lands. These wolves come together under a neutral alliance, not trusting the Kabira but also not wishing to be with Serenity, they keep to themselves and generally don't confer about the matters of the rival packs. While caring and thoughtful, they are a mixed bunch who think more about what is good for themselves and their families over the affairs of outsiders.

The Kabira Wolf Pack are the 'darks' of the lands. Full of hatred, anger, and mistrust; these wolves act on pure instinct. They don't back down to others, even their superiors at times. They attack and kill any trespassers to their territory. Above all others, the members of this pack lothe the members of the Serentity Wolf Pack. They've also been known to steal pups and females from the other two packs, force-breeding, and murder of their own kind. With so much hatred, a war is almost certain.

The Loners are those nomadic wolves that care only for themselves. They do not seek life in a pack, prefering to travel alone or in small family groups. They are the outcasts of pack sociaty, and are looked down upon by all three packs.

This is prehaps the most important board in all the site. However, it's probably the most hated. Yes, this is where our site's rules are located. Not only that, but Rayna's posted valuable information that could help you enjoy your stay here with us.

Once your profile is completed, you must wait for Rayna to approve it before you can join us in the boards. Once approved, they will be moved to the sub-board within.
If Rayna is away, then Neona will take over the site and the character approvals. If/when that happens, I expect her to be treated with the same respect you would treat me.

Entwined Lands
[ ]Black Bear River
Named by the wolves for common apearances of solitary black bears that come down from the forests for a quick drink or fish. These bears provide very little threat to even a loner. Unless, of course, it's spring and the mothers bring their cubs to the waterfront.

[ ]The Clearing
A most dangerous area of all the lands, this is where Man can sometimes be found. With shiny sticks that spout fire and thunder, they kill for pleasure never feasting in the open.. Stay on constant alert for danger when crossing this clearing.
00
[ ]Wildflower Valley
Lush patches of daisies, wild roses, lilac and many other colorful flowers that make their residence in the small valley. The smells that come from the colors are carried on spring and summer winds. However, in the late fall and throughout winter, these flowers lose their color and are burried by thick snow as they patiently await the spring.
00
[ ]The Human Dens
This small village was abandoned years ago. When the humans left, they abandoned their dens to the elements. Now, the once-strong structures made from clay and wood and facioned with straw and branches for rooves, now lay in shackles. The remains of human tools lay scattered under a thin layer of sod.
00
Serenity Packland
[ ]Borderlands
These are the dividing lines between the shared lands and the lands controled by the Serenity Wolf Pack. They extend from the west and along the beach front until they finish off just adjacent to the forests of the Denali Wolf Pack. It is considered proper and polite for new arrivals to howl a greeting to the pack and to the heirarchy within it.

[ ]Crystal Lagoon
Beneath the sparkling-clear waters of the lagoon, multi-colored fish swim free and unconcerned with a peaceful swish of their fanned tails. Along with the gentle air currents that send the glass-like surface into dancing ripples, the soft air smells sweetly of coconuts.
00
[ ]Palm Grove
Tall palm trees burst from the sand like Mother Earth's hands, giving shade to the weary. Beware, however. Those sweet smelling coconuts may prove fatal if they fall upon an unsuspecting sleeper. However, tear one open and the milk inside will satisfy even the most parched wolf. That is, if you can tear one open..
00
[ ]The Ocean
For miles and miles, the great ocean continues from the white sands of the idylic beachline. Sea gulls caw overhead, turning the blue sky, white at times. A soft, salty smell comes from the glistening water, making sleep come easily. Watch your step, for sea creatures call this beach home.
00
[ ]Sea Cave
Gorged out from the ground is a deep cavern filled with rock formations and the steady drip of water from the underground streams. This is the best source of shelture from the elements, large enough to fit a large pack comfortably.
00
Denali Packland
[ ]Borderlands
These invisible lines are drawn from the northern reaches of the lands and down to the sweeping sands that belong to the Serenity. It is considered rude to cross into another wolf pack's lands without issueing a greeting howl and patiently awaiting a dominant's answer.

[ ]Oak Glade
Named for the luscious oak trees that sink their roots deeply into the rich soil. And for a good reason, underfoot there are underground aquafers that sometimes leak water up to the surface, gathering in small impressions in the ground. This naturally filtered water provides a wonderful drink of relief to anyone suffering from the heat of summer.
00
[ ]Ebony Lake
Small in size, Ebony Lake is only slightly larger than the Lagoon found in the shared lands. Though, what it lacks in diameter, it makes up for in depth. Even the shallows appear black, masking it's contents from sight.
00
[ ]Bird Song
This reach of the Denali Packlands are teeming with avian wildlife from water fowl that thrive off from the marshes found here, to songbirds that twitter happily in the branches of the willow tree. Never-the-less, whatever birds choose to appear, the songs can be heard for miles around.
00
[ ]The Forests
This is the largest area of all the Packland, spanning for miles north to south. Thick with prey and plant life, this is where most of the pack can be found. However, life in this fruitful forest can be most difficult when winter takes control and the deadly frost sets in. Seek shelture in the gnarled roots of the local trees when the bad gets worst.
00
Kabira Packland
[ ]Borderlands
This scent-marked line falls downward from the high north and sweeps down beside the forests and to the sands of the beaches. Within it are great mountains and steep ravines. Not only the landscape is dangerous, so it would be wise to alert the Alphas to your arrival... It's a long way down from the Barterer's Cliff.
00
[ ]Barterer's Cliff
Aptly named for the history and legends surrounding the great drop-off, this area was once used as a sacrificial alter for a human religion dating back many hundreds of years ago. The legends for-told of the innocent and not-so-innocent souls that had bartered desperately to be saved, only to be thrown to the rocks below.
00
[ ]Half-Peak
Half-Peak. The name suites the barren stretch of mountainside, devoid of all life save for the scattered moutain goats or cougars. The main peak of this mountain was snapped in half by the glacial activity of the land's history.
00
[ ]Star Canyon
The deep canyon was created when the land was covered by a thick blanket of glaciers several miles thick. These huge patches of packed ice and dirt cut the great canyon from the foot of Half-Peak in the exagerated form of a star.
00
[ ]Jagged Pass
The only active source of water for the Kabira Wolf Pack without a journey to the Entwined lands, the pass extends from the canyon and to a ridge that overlooks the territories of the rival packs. It is at this pass that many of the scouting parties are sent to bring word of rival activity..
00
The Denning Areas
[ ]Serenity Wolf Pack
Found past Palm Grove, and just north of the Ocean, holes in the side of a hill are dug out and are capable of holding between one and four wolves comfortably, varying by the depth of the caverns. It is here that the females of the pack come to give birth. Other females are welcomed to help with the births, but males must ask permission to enter a mother's den, or the consequences can be severe.

[ ]Denali Wolf Pack
These deep dens are fasioned under the twisted roots of many varieties of trees all coming together in a unison of confusion to provide much needed shelture for birhting the future of the pack. It is extreamly rude for a male to enter an occupied den with a whelping mother. This action can cause the entire pack to turn on the foolish male.
00
[ ]Kabira Wolf Pack
These dens are carved from inside a shallow cavern that was cut from the rock by the glaciers that plauged the lands hundreds upon hundreds of years earlier. These stone dens provide shelture for mothers to whelp their pups. Males are not permitted anywhere near the mothers without priar permission or death will come swiftly.
